KISCO’s 2024 Vietnam Seminar: “Driving Sustainability through Quality Improvement and Energy Efficiency Innovation”

Kyung-In Synthetic Corporation (KISCO), a global leader in dyes, chemicals and functional materials, held a seminar on Saturday September 7th at the Caravelle Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The theme of the event was “Driving Sustainability through Quality Improvement and Energy Efficiency Innovation”. The event was highly successful, with over 100 attendees. This included Korean companies operating in Vietnam, local Vietnamese clients, as well as major end-user customers from China and Taiwan.

In his opening remarks, KISCO CEO, Sung Yong Cho, outlined the company’s vision for sustainable growth and its future strategic direction, emphasizing KISCO’s commitment to ESG management. The seminar featured updates on Vietnam’s progress toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and the latest trends in global sustainability standards such as ZDHC, Bluesign and GOTS, along with sharing major brand requirements. Global partners Bluesign and Coloro were invited to discuss their collaboration with KISCO. Bluesign helps certify KISCO’s products and process and in designing sustainability improvements across KISCO’s operations. Coloro delivers accurate and efficient color solution services across the entire supply chain, including to major brands, to ensure sustainability in the textile industry through Right First Time dyeing.

Addressing the increasing environmental regulations and heightened demands from brands, KISCO staff presented innovative products and processes tailored to various dyeing requirements. For cellulosic fibers, they introduced the NaturePlus range of dyes. This new range not only meets sustainability standards and offers high color fastness but also significantly reduces water, energy and processing time. For polyester, the company highlighted its EXW-SP dyes, which boast excellent thermal processing stability. These dyes enhance productivity and have low contamination on spandex, making EXW-SP dyes ideal for sports and activewear. These innovations were demonstrated through real-world examples, capturing strong interest from attendees and leading to a lively Q&A session.

Through this seminar, KISCO reaffirmed its leading role in applying sustainability standards, demonstrated its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by clients, and solidified its position as a partner offering innovative products and processes that can be practically applied in the field.
